Jess is the co-owner of FitRight HQ and has a passion for pain management, movement rehabilitation, injury prevention and promoting general health and well being. She takes a holistic approach to treatment and believes that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach. Nothing makes her happier than seeing her patients get back to doing the things they love and reaching their goals, as quickly as possible.
Where do you work as a Physio and what type of clients do you treat on a normal day?
Since graduating from Curtin University in 2007 I have worked primarily in private physiotherapy clinics in Perth and Sydney, treating all types of musculoskeletal and sports injuries and teaching clinical pilates classes. Over the last 6 years, since having children of my own, I have developed an interest in treating and teaching exercise classes to women during the antenatal and postnatal periods. Excitingly, Taryn Watson and I now are now co-owners in the FitRight HQ Applecross clinic.
At FitRight HQ I see women of any age with all types of musculoskeletal aches and pains, varying from pelvic and back pain during pregnancy to knee pain with running. I teach individual and small group (1:3) clinical exercise classes to women of any age or ability. I also provide treatment for breastfeeding issues such as nipple damage and mastitis/blocked ducts.
Which FitRight classes do you currently teach?
Baby&Me and Toddler&Me in Manning.
What do you love most about being a FitRight Instructor?
My favourite thing about being a FitRight Instructor is to be able to offer classes which are welcoming and fun, where women can exercise safety during pregnancy and after child birth. It brings me great joy to watch the babies and children grow each week, and to see them interact with each other and with the lovely volunteers. The FitRight team is a wonderful, supportive and passionate group of ladies, who I feel so lucky to work with.
