We’ve compiled a handy list of frequently asked questions about FitRight group fitness classes below:

You can commence FitRight’s Bump&Me Studio and Aqua Fitness Classes at any stage of pregnancy, as long as you have the all clear from the health professional (GP, obstetrician, midwife) looking after you. We recommend you attend these classes during your second and third trimesters and you are welcome to attend right up until your due date!

You can commence FitRight’s Baby&Me Studio and Aqua Fitness classes after your baby has had his or her 6 week immunisations, as long as you have been given the all clear from the health professional (GP, obstetrician, midwife) looking after you. Please note you will also be required to attend a FitRight initial assessment before commencing classes.

If your youngest child is over 6-8 months old, you might prefer FitRight’s more advanced Studio and Aqua Fitness Classes – Empower and Toddler&Me. If you would like to attend these more challenging classes when you are earlier postnatal, please note that we will need specific clearance from your specialist physiotherapist that did your FitRight assessment.

You do not need a referral as such, however you will need to sign off on our registration forms that you have received the all clear from the health professional (GP, obstetrician, midwife) looking after you.

If you have private health insurance, it is highly likely that you will receive a rebate for FitRight classes as all our classes are delivered by qualified physiotherapists. The amount that you get back will depend on your level of cover, and how much you have already used, so you should check your individual circumstances with your health insurance provider.

For pregnancy fitness classes (Bump&Me Studio and Aqua) please quote code 595 for ‘Antenatal Exercise’ and for post natal exercise classes (Baby&Me, Toddler&Me and Empower and Aqua classes) quote code 596 for ‘Postnatal Exercise’. For PregEd workshops and initial assessments quote code 500 for ‘Initial Assessment’. Please note that these are PHYSIOTHERAPY codes, they do not come under ‘pilates’ as part of extras cover.

Alternatively we are also able to use the code 560 for any of our classes with less than 6 participants or 561 for any of classes with more than 6 participants on request. These are general ‘Group Exercise Class’ codes that also fall under the physiotherapy category. Please email us if you have any further questions.

Please also note that receipts for private health rebates are sent at the end of each six week course. We cannot provide a claimable receipt for classes that have not been attended.

Please note that online classes are not available for private health fund rebates.

Bookings and payments for all classes can be made on our website in the 3 weeks prior to classes commencing. We welcome mid-course enrolments (in classes that have available places), see below.

Payment options include credit card, paypal or direct bank transfer. If you select bank transfer you will receive the FitRight bank account details on your order form. Please make payment within 7 days.

Unfortunately we cannot offer make-up classes. If you miss a class due to sickness/holidays ect you will be sent an online exercise class recording, which you can do at home in your own time during that week.

Online classes are recorded and are able to accessed throughout the week of your class.

Water bottle – it’s important to keep hydrated!

Classes involving baby massage require you to bring a towel and some baby massage oil.

For aqua classes, bring bathers and a towel for yourself & baby. If bub is participating in Pool Play, a reusable swim nappy with tight fitting waist-band and legs is essential (Happy Nappy brand is recommended).

If you are bringing your baby to a class (and we are happy for you to do so!) please bring them in a pram to make it easy for the volunteers to assist in caring for them.

Comfortable clothing such as leggings and a t-shirt are ideal. Most of the time we exercise in bare feet or socks, but if you have knee or foot issues that are helped with supportive footwear, please bring these along for the standing portions of the classes.

For aqua classes, wear your bathers (or a sports crop and shorts) and bring a spare change of clothes.

Community volunteers are usually present at Baby&Me and Toddler&Me classes. The volunteers can assist in caring for your babies/children in very close proximity to where you are exercising. You will be able to hear and see whether the volunteers need assistance with your little one.

We do not run FitRight classes on public holidays for Studio or Aqua courses. If your class falls on a public holiday the cost of your classes will be reduced accordingly. Online classes continue to be run on Public Holidays, with all clients receiving a recording of the class post session.

Absolutely! We welcome mid-course enrolments for classes that have availability. Once a course has begun you will need to select ‘Mid-course Enrolment’ on the booking page. You can then select the number of classes that you would like to attend. For example if you would like to attend for the remaining 4 weeks of a course then select the option which includes 4 dates.

Please note, if you would like to attend the baby massage or pool play components of the Baby&Me Studio and Aqua classes, then please select the same number as classes you are attending. For example, if you are hoping to attend the last 3 Baby&Me classes of a course with baby massage then please select 3 baby massage sessions. We do not offer baby massage or pool play as a one off (unless you are doing just 1 class).

The volunteers are lovely members of the community who have offered their time to make it easier for you to return to exercise after having a baby. All volunteers require a Working With Children Check and be up to date with their Whooping Cough Vaccines before commencing volunteer work with FitRight. The volunteers will be in the same area as you while you exercise so that you can easily see and hear if you need to stop the class to attend to your child.
